چکیده
PurposeThe purpose of this study was to quantify the effect meniscoplasty suture-saucerization on volume and surface coverage lateral discoid menisci.MethodsThis retrospective included all consecutive 10 patients treated between 2014 2019 who had magnetic resonance imaging before after surgery 15 controls. The MITK 3M3 semiautomatic software used segment meniscus cartilage measure percentage tibial cartilage. Results are compared control without knee pathology matched sex age with Student t test.ResultsDiscoid were respectively 597 mm2 (range, 550-887 mm2) 2,822 mm³ (1,571-3,407 mm³), representing 74.5% (56%-89%) surface. After surgery, it decreased 422 (229-569 1,235 (680-1,738 leading 45.7% (22.5%-68.6%) coverage. In group, median 457 (314-641 mm2), 1,321 mm3 (641-2,240 mm3), 55% (41%-77%). Altogether, similar normal, while significantly lower than controls (P = .04).ConclusionsMeniscoplasty procedure may allow sparing restauration a normal volume. Meniscus diminished Both normalization is usually not achievable decreasing thickness rather thick meniscus.Clinical RelevanceBoth menisci. This test. Discoid .04). Meniscoplasty meniscus.

Arthroscopic Saucerization and All-Inside Repair of a Delaminated Discoid Lateral Meniscus
Preservation of the meniscus has been shown to influence the progression of degenerative changes of the knee. As more meniscus is preserved, the propensity for development of osteoarthritis is lessened. Surgical treatment of a torn discoid meniscus has typically been a subtotal meniscectomy or partial meniscectomy. Similar to tears of a normal meniscus, partial meniscectomy compared with subtot...

Discoid meniscus is an anatomical congenital anomaly more often found in the lateral meniscus. A discoid medial meniscus is a very rare anomaly, and even more rare is to diagnose a bilateral discoid medial meniscus although the real prevalence of this situation is unknown because not all the discoid medial menisci are symptomatic and if the contralateral knee is not symptomatic then it is not u...

The discoid meniscus is probably a congenital deviation that usually occurs laterally. The Watanabe classification consists of complete, incomplete, or Wrisburg ligament types. Complete and incomplete discoid menisci normally require treatment only when a tear occurs. The Wrisburg ligament type lacks a posterior capsular attachment. The preferred treatment is repair of the posterior capsular di...
